CAMP ANYTOWN TO CANCEL 2020 SPRING CAMP
AMID PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS

LAS VEGAS, NV., March 16, 2020 - With the Governor’s announcement of closures for all Nevada K-12 schools in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and most recently, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation that “organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more” in the United States to limit transmission of the virus.

Camp Anytown Las Vegas has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 spring camp, originally scheduled for APR 11 – 14, 2020 amid broad-based concerns over public health and safety. We are exploring options to reschedule and will announce new dates if confirmed. We believe it is critical that we turn to those with expertise in infection control and public health to guide our decision making in order to get behind this.

We will continue to work hard to bring students from Southern Nevada the unique life changing experience of the Anytown program. Though it’s true our spring camp will no longer take place in the way we intended, we continue to strive toward our purpose – breaking down barriers and building up communities.

We do not know what the next few months will look so all one can do is the next right thing.
